Need of special care
We take care of its strength, beauty, and sometimes even Vastu while building the house, but forget to take care of the convenience of our elders. Now some real estate companies and builders are taking care of it, but still, these things are not considered as necessary until it is needed.
It is very important for the elderly to avoid falling. They also get tired very quickly due to physical weakness. So these six things are important:
1. Anti-slippery tiles in bathroom
If installing tiles in the house, take special care of it in the bathroom.
2. Holder near commode
Whatever style of toilet is English or Indian in your house, place a good quality holder on the wall next to the commode, which the elderly can get up with the help of. Sometimes getting up from a jerk causes dizziness. It is higher in people with high or low blood pressure. Muscle weakness comes with age. Also, there is a danger of falling while getting up.

3. Calling bell
Sometimes when elders are in their room, they may suddenly get an attack, they may fall. There may be situations when they cannot even raise a voice for help. There are many incidents when elders are lying in this condition and their children sleeping in other rooms do not even know.
That is why one should put such a bell at the height of the shoulders and another on the wall some above the floor. Get at least two such bells or more, if possible, in their rooms.
4. Low height bed
The bed on which the elderly sleep should not have much height. It should only so high that they can climb comfortably.
Lay the carpets near their beds so that even if they fall, the injury is minimized.
Do not keep any sharp or hurtful things in the elderly room. Keep the arrange things so that they do not have any problem in movement and they are also less likely to fall.
5. Handrail in stairs
People usually build railings in big stairs. But when a house is built on a small piece of land, the majority of the stairway comes between the two walls. Only 4-5 steps below remain empty. Many people do not put railings in it.
But if there is an elderly person in your house, then you should get the railings in the entire stairs. It also supports them in climbing and landing and also prevents them from falling.
Do not leave any sharp or hurtful objects around the stairs.
Chair or couch near of staircase
There is a single store house in the villages. But cities usually have multi-stored houses. Small flats do not have elevators. In such a situation, the elderly are tired if they come from somewhere.
Do not let them climb the stairs immediately, even if one has to go to the just some stairs. Place the couch or chair under the ladder. Let them climb the stairs only after sitting there for a while, taking a little rest, and drinking some water.
Keep such facilities even in the villages that if your elders go somewhere for a walk or some work, then they do not have to stand continuously for a long and they sit and relax in between.
All these precautions are small but many times we are unable to pay attention to them. Our elders have to suffer a lot when an accident happens.
